Our breakdown cover
Doorstep assistance, roadside breakdown assistance and nationwide recovery – all in one simple membership.
Three levels of help in one membership
Doorstep Assistance

Breakdown Assistance
Help when you have broken down more than a ¼ mile from your home. If your car cannot be fixed at the roadside, we’ll take you and your car to the nearest garage, your home, or to an alternative local destination.
Nationwide Recovery
Help following a breakdown at the roadside. If we can’t arrange a prompt repair, we’ll transport you, your car and your passengers to your home, a garage or to any mainland UK destination of your choice.

Our latest average call-out time
When you consider that your car has more than 10,000 parts, plus dozens of sensors constantly measuring the performance of the vehicle and more computing power than the Apollo moon capsule, it is easy to understand how it can sometimes break down. Every GenAssist call gets:
- Quick and courteous service – a quick and courteous response to the call by a person who will take ownership of your breakdown problem.
- Fully trained professionals – you are attended by a fully trained and uniformed professional who will carry all the latest equipment.
- No labour charges – you pay no labour charges for any work carried out at the roadside (any parts used will be charged for).
Who and what is covered
- Any car, motorcycle or light commercial vehicle up to 3,500kg gross vehicle weight.
- Your vehicle is covered whoever is driving it.
- Cover applies anywhere in the UK, including at your home.
- Towing a caravan or trailer? If we can’t fix your vehicle at the roadside, we’ll recover it together with the caravan or trailer, as long as they don’t exceed 8m long, 3m high and 2.25m wide.
